Initiatives

Our Initiatives

1. Agriculture

Many rural communities are trapped in cycles of poverty due to unsustainable agricultural practices. Our initiatives include:

  • Teaching sustainable, low-input farming techniques
  • Introducing appropriate technology tailored to local needs
  • Community tree-planting programs, e.g., 10 fruit trees per member per year
  • Hands-on workshops on crop diversity, soil health, and water conservation

Impact: Empowering communities to grow food sustainably while generating income and building resilience.

2. Training & Education

Quality education is hard to access in rural Zambia. Many students cannot afford the USD 10 per term and walk up to 7 km in harsh conditions to attend overcrowded classes. Sharevilles provides:

  • Supplementary education at SLCs
  • Teacher training programs three times a year
  • Adult literacy classes and content development
  • Online tutoring and mentorship for students
  • Courses in entrepreneurship, arts, crafts, and appropriate technologies

Impact: Ensures holistic learning that strengthens minds and communities, giving members the tools to thrive independently.

3. Services & Community Support

Sharevilles fosters community empowerment beyond education:

  • Coordinating volunteers to serve on-site or remotely
  • Supporting the creation of local small businesses and initiatives
  • Transparent financial management for SLCs (roughly USD 600/month per center)
  • Weekly progress updates shared online via ShareVille Café, our online hub for interaction, learning, and sharing

Impact: Builds self-reliant, connected communities with sustainable growth and collaboration across networks.
